Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what data Sudoku Lite handles: the sudoku app for Android, available on Google Play, and the website www.playsudokulite.com. In this text, “Sudoku Lite” refers to both.
Sudoku Lite is responsible for this data. You can write to us at sudokulite@2myr.com.
In short
- You don’t need to sign up or create an account. We don’t have a user database.
- Your progress and preferences are stored only on your device.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob, including rewarded videos that you watch only if you want to.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
- We don’t sell your data.
- You can limit personalized ads in your device settings.
Data we don’t collect
Sudoku Lite does not ask for, or store on its own servers:
- Your name, email address, phone number or other contact details.
- Data about your gender, age or other personal characteristics.
- Your precise location, contacts, photos or files, or payment details.
Data stored on your device
For the game to work, Sudoku Lite stores the information it needs on your device:
- The levels you have unlocked and the status of your challenges.
- Your times (best time and last game) and the number of sudokus played on each level.
- Your preferences, such as the light or dark theme.
This information is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in the Android settings (by clearing Sudoku Lite’s data) or by uninstalling the app. Keep in mind that this also deletes your progress.
Advertising: Google AdMob
The app shows ads through Google AdMob (Google LLC). Some of them are rewarded videos: you watch them only if you choose to, for example to unlock an extra attempt in a challenge.
To show and measure ads, AdMob may automatically collect:
- Device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and the app set ID.
- Technical data: device model, operating system, language, app version and connection type.
- Approximate location: country or city, inferred from the IP address.
- Ad interactions: which ads are shown, whether you tap them and whether you complete a video.
Google uses this data to show ads, measure their performance, limit how often you see the same ad and prevent fraud. Ads can be personalized (based on interests associated with your advertising ID) or non-personalized (based on context, such as language or approximate location).
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalized ads are shown only with your consent. Without it, AdMob shows non-personalized or limited ads.
You can control personalized ads at any time:
- On Android, go to Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on the device) to delete or reset your advertising ID.
- See how Google uses information in advertising and manage your preferences in My Ad Center.
Analytics: Google Analytics for Firebase and Microsoft Clarity
We use two analytics services in the app to learn how Sudoku Lite is used: which features are used most, where errors appear and what we can improve.
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) measures how the app is used, in aggregate: screens visited, session length and interactions with the game.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) shows us how people interact with the interface (taps and scrolling) through heatmaps and session recordings, so we can find confusing or broken parts. The app has no fields for entering personal data.
These services may automatically collect:
- Usage data: screens viewed, interactions and session length.
- Technical data: device model, operating system, language, screen size and app version.
- Approximate location: country or city, inferred from the IP address.
- Online identifiers: an app installation identifier and, when available, the advertising ID. They don’t reveal your name or email address.
We don’t use these services to obtain data about your gender, age or other personal characteristics, and we don’t combine them with information that identifies you.
How we use the data
We use advertising and analytics information only to:
- Show ads and measure their performance, which allows us to maintain the app.
- Understand how people play Sudoku Lite and which features are most useful.
- Detect errors and performance problems.
- Get to know our audience in general terms (for example, which countries and devices people play from) and decide what to improve.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell, rent or trade your data. The data described above is received only by Google (AdMob and Firebase) and Microsoft (Clarity) to provide their services, and they process it under their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Privacy and Security in Firebase
- Microsoft Privacy Statement
We would only disclose information if a law or a competent authority required us to.
Website
The website www.playsudokulite.com is informational: it uses no cookies, analytics or advertising, and it doesn’t ask you for any data. Fonts and images are served from the site itself.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as the IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse. Learn more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Links to Google Play take you to a Google site, which is governed by its own policy.
Security
- We don’t store personal data on our own servers: there are no accounts and no user database.
- The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Advertising and analytics data is encrypted in transit, and Google and Microsoft apply their own security measures.
Data retention and deletion
- Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- You can delete or reset your advertising ID at any time in the Android settings.
- Google and Microsoft keep advertising and analytics data for the period set in each service and then delete it.
This data doesn’t include your name or email address, so in general we can’t link it to you. If you still want to ask a question or request that we delete information, write to us at sudokulite@2myr.com.
International transfers
Google and Microsoft may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States. Both companies apply to these transfers the safeguards described in their privacy policies.
Minors
Sudoku Lite is intended for people aged 18 and over. It is not designed for minors and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on the laws of your country, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to its processing, or to withdraw your consent to personalized ads. Since we don’t keep data that identifies you, the most direct ways to control it are:
- Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it.
- Deleting or resetting your advertising ID and limiting ad personalization in the Android settings.
For any other request, write to us. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
